The Warwick Valley Jazz Festival is pleased to have exceeded expectations for it's first two years.
The readers of The Times Herald Record were kind enough to vote it “Best Musical Festival” of the year (2011),and the festival a recipient of an arts award from The Orange County Arts Council, and a second consecutive grant from Arts In Orange.
This year's shows will be August 16-19, 2012 and already two new venues have been added. Eddie's Roadhouse on Main Street has been presenting live music and jazz several nights a week and has expressed interest in participating in this year's festival. The Iron Forge Inn started a jazz series outdoors in the early fall and is about to renew that with an indoor monthly show. Both are happy to be part of season three.
In addition, there are discussions with The Warwick Historical Society and looking to the Lycian Center in Sugarloaf as a venue. But let's not forget the great support of the music community that continues at Coquito , The Dautaj and The "Music In The Courtyard Series", headed up by George Laurence of The Eclectic Eye with outdoors shows and inside at Grappa Restaurant in the winter. These local venues, coupled with the Village of Warwick's music series have all become part of this expanding umbrella .
