We're a growing residential deck builder serving Orange County and the surrounding Hudson Valley. We specialize in high-quality outdoor living spaces that are built to last, and we're looking for experienced carpenters who take pride in doing things the right way.

What You'll Do:
As a Deck Builder, you'll be responsible for constructing residential decks from framing through completion while maintaining Dead Level's quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Read and interpret construction drawings
- Dig and pour concrete footings
- Layout and construct deck framing
- Install decking, fascia, trim, and railings
- Build standard stair systems
- Install structural connectors and hardware correctly
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
- Work independently while contributing to the team
- Identify and solve routine field challenges
- Communicate professionally with homeowners when appropriate
- Take pride in producing work that exceeds expectations
What We're Looking For
- Residential carpentry experience (deck experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of framing and general construction
- Ability to read a tape measure, a level, and construction drawings
- Comfortable using common carpentry tools and equipment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Deck framing
- Stair construction
- Composite decking systems
- Pressure-treated lumber
- Structural connectors and hardware
- Building code knowledge
- Equipment operation
- Trailer organization and jobsite logistics

Compensation: $26.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule
- Full-time
- Day shift
- Monday–Thursday standard schedule (weather and project dependent)
- Overtime available when needed
