Director – Backpack Snack Attack

Volunteer Position
Approx. 30 hours/week
Backpack Snack Attack is a volunteer-powered community program dedicated to fighting childhood food insecurity by providing weekend food to children in the Warwick, Greenwood Lake, and Florida school districts. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven Director to lead daily operations, community outreach, and the continued growth of this vital program.
Position Overview
The Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Backpack Snack Attack while strengthening community partnerships, supporting volunteers, and ensuring the program continues to serve local children efficiently and sustainably.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and attend fundraising and community events (Mardi Gras, Warwick Summer Music Festival, etc.)
- Manage grant research and applications, annual sponsorships and community relations
- Process bank deposits and reconcile accounts alongside the treasurer
- Responsible for all social media, website and Canva accounts
- Serve as Secondary Liaison for the following:
- Contact with local school districts
- Assist with maintaining confidential student participation lists
- Assist with food ordering, packing, labeling, and distribution
- Assist with recruiting and communicating with volunteers
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Experience with nonprofits, community programs, or volunteer management preferred
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a dedicated small team
- Passion for serving children and supporting families in our community
- VOLUNTEER POSITION, Part-time, approximately 30 hours per week
- Some evenings and weekends required
